La Nostra Storia

Our Story

Fortu & Antonella

From a small town in Southern Italy to a tiny restaurant on Avenida 8 de Marzo. This is the story of two people who followed their hearts and brought the taste of home to Gran Canaria.

Italian cooking

The Dream

Fortunato, Fortu to everyone who knows him, grew up watching his grandmother make pasta from scratch. Antonella grew up surrounded by the aromas of her mother's kitchen. When they met, they discovered they shared the same dream: to share real Italian food with the world.

Gran Canaria called to them. The sunshine, the warmth of the people, the opportunity to create something special. They found a small space on Avenida 8 de Marzo, and Brigante was born.

Pizza making

The Name

"Brigante" means outlaw or rebel in Italian. Fortu chose it because their food is a rebellion against fast food, against shortcuts, against anything that is not made with love and proper ingredients.

"Feeling Food" is exactly what they want you to do. Not just eat, but feel. Feel the passion in every bite, the tradition in every recipe, the welcome in every greeting.

The Hidden Gem

With only 20-30 seats, Brigante is intentionally small. Fortu does not want to be a big restaurant. He wants to cook for you personally, to ask how you liked the food, to pour you a limoncello and hear about your day.

That is why reviewers call them a "hidden gem." Small, personal, unforgettable.
